It’s the finale!
The evening starts with a painfully slow recap of the last 10 weeks. However, with literally no options left other than proposing to Hannah Ann, Peter makes the brave and completely unexpected decision to propose to Hannah Ann. It’s not exactly a cliff hanger. Peter is hyped and couldn’t be more excited that there was 1 woman out of 30 who was able to fake being attracted to him during the 2 months of taping.
The producers, obviously thinking about how they’re going to stretch this across 4 hours, wait until Peter is awaiting Hannah Ann’s arrival to tell him that Hannah Ann might be having second thoughts and not show up. Peter about $hits himself, and then 30 second later, Chris tells him that she’s on her way. Why the absolutely unnecessary drama? Rather ask yourself, why not. The content made some excellent, excellent previews for the season.
Even though Hannah Ann literally was ready to break up with him not 5 minutes ago, Peter proposes and Hannah Ann says “Yes”. In between “I love you” and “will you marry me?”, Peter tells Hannah that his other girlfriend kicked him to the curb 2 days ago. If hearing your fiancé talk about his ex-girlfriend during his proposal isn’t romantic, then I’m not sure what is. A week later, back in the US, Peter tells his parents about the engagement to the Earth Angel and his mom, once again, hysterically cries.
I’ll pause here to mention that the show is live, so before every commercial break, we cut to Chris Harrison live in LA, giving some sort of useless lead-in to earn his several million dollar paycheck. Interwoven throughout, we see live footage of Mrs. Webber and she looks PISSED. It appears this happy ending does not last for long.
Next we see Peter and Hannah meet up 1 month after the engagement, and something is off. Peter tells Hannah Ann that he “isn’t able to give her his full heart” (BUT HE WAS ABLE TO GIVE HIS FULL D*CK 1 MONTH AGO??? I DIGRESS), and in the biggest shocker of the season, Hannah holds her own, shows incredible strength, and tells Peter off while keeping her dignity. It’s the classiest breakup I’ve seen on the Bachelor and I am CHEERING for her! I’m not the only one because we flash to Mrs. Webber who is also beaming with pride at her ex-daughter.
We catch up with Hannah Ann and Peter live in LA, and Peter takes full responsibility of being an idiot, and it’s the first sign of intelligent life we’ve seen all season.
Seeing Peter with literally no one to love him, Chris Harrison flies back to Alabama to meet with Madison and try to rally the troops. Madison admits she still has feelings for Peter, and WINGMAN OF THE YEAR, Chris Harrison, convinces her to fly to LA to meet Peter. Meanwhile, live in LA, the EYE ROLL from Mrs. Webber is something that dreams are made of. I cannot wait for the memes.
Back to the live episode, it’s been about a month since Peter and Madison reconnected. Peter’s mom all but says she hates Madison and it’s so awkward.
And that’s how we end it folks. Peter & Madison v. the world + Mrs. Webber. We wish them luck!
See you next year for the Most. Dramatic. Season. Yet.
